In this work, we fabricated liquid crystal (LC) cells by combining strip and uniform electrodes and examined their millimeter wave reflection properties. Electromagnetic simulation (FDTD) results revealed that the resonance frequency decreased by 7 GHz and reflectivity rose by 84%. Furthermore, the measured resonance frequency coincided with the simulated result. Hence, we can realize LC tunable millimeter-wave absorbers with a simple electrode structure and high performance.
