A simple bar nested tubular hollow-core fiber (HCF) is numerically designed for terahertz wave guidance. The geometry of five tube polycarbonate fiber is optimized to minimize the losses. The bar nested tubular fiber (BNTF) shows better confinement loss (CL) than five tube simple tubular fiber (STF) at 0.4 THz. However, the total loss (TL) of BNTF is closer to but lower than TL of STF.
