In response to the formulation of “Fusion Energy Innovation Strategy” by The Integrated Innovation Strategy Promotion Council in April 2023, QST has started activities to establish a technological and human resource bases for a fusion DEMO reactor with the all-Japan corporation by closely linking domestic R&D with ITER project, which is a large-scale international joint project and BA activities, which is an international joint project between Japan and Europe that supports and complements the ITER project. Status and future prospects of Fusion DEMO R&D will be reported.
