Since water vapor causes significant device degradation, high performance water vapor barrier films are needed to achieve flexible perovskite solar cells. We are developing a less expensive barrier structure using coating processes. The dissolvable polysilazane (PHPS) was densified by irradiation of vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light. This solution-processed barrier using photo-densified PHPS marks the world's highest performance for a coated water vapor barrier.
