Perovskite solar cells were originally derived from dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) research, so structures similar to those of DSSCs were often studied in the early days. Later, the so-called inverse structure type (glass/ITO/HTL/perovskite/ETL/electrode) was proposed due to the contribution of organic thin film solar cell (OPV) researchers. In this talk, I will discuss the development and current status of perovskite solar cells with a focus on this inverse structure type.
