The aim is to detect highly sensitive low refractive index media by using the phenomenon that inhibits Fano resonance (hereinafter referred to as Fano antiresonance), which occurs when light is incident on a gold one-dimensional grating structure on a sapphire substrate. Through simulations using the RCWA method, we showed that it is possible to detect low refractive index media by using the reflectance enhancement effect caused by Fano antiresonance, and also discussed the mechanism of Fano antiresonance.
