[23a-12M-6]Theoretical Analysis of Short- and Medium-Range Orders in Fe–B–Si Amorphous Alloys

In this study, molecular dynamics simulations of the melt-quenching process were carried out: a Voronoi polyhedral analysis revealed Fe-B clusters of the bi-capped anti prism and tri-capped trigonal prism types. This result confirms the Gaskell model. In addition to edge sharing, trigonal prism coupling with vertex sharing was also found as a network of multiple local clusters. This suggests the possibility of various coupling modes.
