Josephson plasma emitters (JPEs) are terahertz light sources that utilize the AC Josephson effect in high-Tc cuprate superconductors. Due to their excellent frequency tunability, they are expected to be applied to next-generation wireless communication devices for Beyond 5G. In this talk, the authors present the results of implementing the nonlinear electric circuit model of the JPE presented in 2022 on LTspice, an electric circuit simulator, to reproduce the device's current, voltage, and radiation intensity characteristics.
