We investigate the dynamics of the ring-opening reaction of α-phellandrene (αPH) by time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy (TRPES). Periodic distortion of the molecular structure suggests that the molecular vibrations excited by pump pulses facilitate the ring-opening reaction of αPH.
