Electroporation is a technique that applies voltage to lipid bilayers in order to increase membrane permeability and insert various molecules. However, observing these microscopic behaviors experimentally is challenging. Therefore, detailed analysis using molecular simulation is necessary. Dissipative Particle Dynamics (DPD) is one of the main methods used to calculate the behavior of lipid bilayers. Using the FMO-DPD simulation developed by our research group, the behavior of POPC lipid bilayers under applied electric fields was analyzed from non-empirical parameters. The membrane distortion and pore changes were observed as a function of the applied voltage intensity.
