We have been investigating the use of LaNiO3 (LNO) conductive oxide layers as an alternative to Ag layers. The equilibrium oxygen concentration in REBCO is lower at higher temperatures and lower oxygen partial pressures. Therefore, LNO should be deposited at lower temperatures and under higher oxygen partial pressures. In this study, we attempted to fabricate LNO thin films at low temperatures of around 400-600°C.
