A volumetric beam shaping which is indispensable for advanced functional laser processing is arbitrary and adaptively performed with a computer-generated hologram (CGH) displayed on a liquid-crystal on silicon spatial light modulator (LCOS-SLM). The design procedure is described in this presentation. Especially, a generation of a long focal beam that is effective for the improved throughput of laser cutting and lase drilling is demonstrated.
