While the power of lasers is rapidly increasing, optics is becoming easily damaged by laser irradiation even in general laboratories or industrical applications. Therefore, we have developed a new optics using gas as a medium, and are attempting to apply it to high-intensity, high-energy laser systems. In this presentation, we will introduce our recent progress to control compression waves and new developments in focusing systems for laser accelerators.
