We investigate the presence of topological boundary modes of 1D mass spring models with local resonators. When masses without resonators are placed next to each other, they are found to have topological boundary modes within the band gap originating from local resonance. Since the band gap due to local resonance can be tuned in frequency, the findings of this study are useful in applications where localized waves are guided along the interface.
