Polymer films are commonly used as substrates for flexible devices, which has been a hot research topic in recent years. Understanding the mechanical behavior of polymer films is essential for improving device performance. Despite extensive studies of tensile behavior through tensile tests, the compression behavior of polymer films remains unclear due to the absence of an applicable measurement method. In this study, we focused on the bending phenomenon in which tension and compression coexist. By quantitatively analyzing bending surface strains and conducting numerical calculations, we analyzed the compressive behavior of polymer films.
