Laser oscillation in the 1.3 µm wavelength range was demonstrated using Nd-doped fluorapatite, non-cubic ceramic materials that have been successfully made transparent by suppressing crystal grain growth. In addition, experiments were also conducted on the high efficiency of the 1.0 µm wavelength range.
