We have shown that molecular crystals with hydrogen bonding networks tend to exhibit higher thermal conductivity than the general thermal diffusivity of organic materials. In the present study, we chose a single crystal of terephthalic acid as a motif that contains a benzene ring, which is a common backbone as well as alkyl groups, while having a hydrogen bonding network, and measured its thermal diffusivity, which was found to be close to that observed for alkyl dicarboxylic acids. In this presentation, the relationship between the type of C-C bonds and thermal conductivity will also be discussed.
