We have previously described surface functionalization of suspended graphene for selective molecule detection. While the mass of molecules can be measured via opto-thermal excitation resonance measurement because of the shift in resonance frequency, it is challenging to distinguish this mass response from that obtained through physical adsorption. In this study, we demonstrated the detection of unlabeled viruses using electro-thermal excitation graphene resonant sensor, and confirmed the feasibility of simultaneous particle counting and mass measurement.
