The design method proposed by Feng, et al for liquid crystal LC lenses is used to realize successfully high-quality Fresnel liquid crystal lens having much larger aperture than conventional liquid crystal lenses. Imaging using a Fresnel liquid crystal lens of 2.0 cm aperture is reported.
