Magnetochiral (MCh) effects known as directional birefringence (dichroism) for unpolarized light are induced in a system with magnetism and chirality. MCh effects are characterized by the unidirectional dichroism of a material. Regarding the interaction between light and matter, material systems will also be modulated by the MCh effects.
In this presentation, we show that a nanoparticle with magnetism and chirality experiences a nonreciprocal electromagnetic force due to the MCh effects. We also discuss the physics behind the nonreciprocal force in detail.
