We investigated the effect of repeated water absorption and drying processes using water at 23°C on adhesive strength. Bulk plate and open face joint lap specimens of epoxy adhesive were prepared, and the weight change and adhesive shear strength were measured respectively. In the bulk plate test, the water absorption diffusion coefficient improved as the number of repetitions increased, but the drying diffusion coefficient remained constant.
