We investigate the charge state of NV centers in diamond by measuring the fluorescence spectrum from the NV centers with varying an excitation light intensity for several diamonds. We also measure the dependence of magnetic field sensitivity for the same diamonds on the excitation light intensity. Since the charge-state conversion due to the excitation light influences the magnetic field sensitivity, investigation on the sensitivity dependence on the excitation light intensity by these measurements will help one to improve the sensitivity in diamond-based magnetometry.
