Focusing on the material that polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) forms a highly stretchable hierarchical structure through ice crystal templates and nanofibrillation by salting out, a conductive polymer gel with both high mechanical strength and conductivity was fabricated by polymerized the conducting polymer (PEDOT) around the PVA nanofibrils by using an oxidizing salt during salting out. The conductive polymer gel obtained this method could be stretched up to 10 times or more and the conductivity increased with elongation up to 100% strain.
