Multiple stable states and transitions among them have attracted much attention owing to their essential roles in the emergence of functions in a variety of molecular and materials systems. We focus on an anharmonic oscillator environment as an environment with multiple stable states, and present a theory describing the quantum dynamics of electronic systems coupled to such multistable environments.
