By using various datasets in science, mathematical models y=f(x) can be constructed between features x such as synthesis and process conditions, and objective variables y such as physical properties and activities of molecules and materials. The model can predict new experiments, propose efficient ways to proceed with experiments, and design values of x for which y is target values. In this presentation, examples of research on development of novel functional materials based on artificial intelligence (AI) and research on the estimation of parameters that are difficult to measure using artificial intelligence will be introduced.
