Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) -grown InAs/GaAs nanostructures assembled by submonolayer (SML) deposition has been gaining interest in various applications. In particular, the highly degree of control of the aerial density of the 3D SML nanostructures makes them ideal for applications such as spin-photon interfaces for quantum information. However, the spin properties of these SML nanostructures have not yet been investigated. In the present work, the spin properties of the 2D and 3D SML nanostructures are investigated by circularly-polarized photoluminescence (PL). It will be shown that there is a significant difference between the spin properties of the 2D and 3D SML nanostructures.
