The permeability of hydrogels made of synthetic polymers was improved by making them porous, and the shape of the hydrogel was successfully controlled into a channel structure by on-chip buckling deformation. This structure was used as a platform for culturing human-derived vascular endothelial cells, and a vascular chip capable of solution delivery was fabricated. We have also succeeded in creating endothelialized channels of various shapes that exhibit expandability as platforms, as well as in controlling the barrier function of channels coated with vascular endothelial cells and their function by bioactive substances.
