In the X-ray translation phenomenon, the wavevector of the X-rays outside the crystal is preserved during crystal propagation, and only the positional displacement occurs. As a result, the focusing effect to the interface could occur if there is a stacking fault. We succeeded in observing X-ray focusing caused by stacking faults existing on the (111) plane of diamond, which increases the brightness by more than twice than that of the light transmitted through the crystal. We report experimental results on this X-ray focusing effect, which is analogous to the waveguiding effect in the visible light photonic crystals.
