Intrinsic Schottky effect
Intrinsic Schottky barrier, a unique phenomenon in topological insulators, is reported from its discovery to the determination of basic properties. It shows the practically permanent excited electrical current on the surface either by optical, thermal, or electrical excitations below a characteristic temperature, and is of interest for device applications as a newly discovered macroscopic quantum effect.
