By irradiating a turbid medium containing dispersed by fine particles with circularly polarized light and investigating the degree of polarization elimination of the scattered light, the size, shape, density, and the like of the diffusion particles can be evaluated. This method enables non-invasive assessment of malignant tumors exhibiting nuclear atypia. To determine the optimal wavelength for evaluation, we conducted numerical and experimental investigations considering factors such as the actual size distribution and refractive index ratio of nuclei in squamous cell carcinoma. This report presents our findings.
