Applying voltage to a liquid crystal cell filled with nematic liquid crystal exhibiting negative dielectric anisotropy causes convection due to the electrohydrodynamic instability, and a unique pattern is observed that is dependent on the magnitude and frequency of the applied voltage. In this study, we investigate the performance of physical reservoir computing using pattern formation of this nematic liquid crystal by applying voltage.
