As a reference study to gain insight into radiation-induced damage in PADC, we have investigated the effects of vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) irradiation at 172 nm. Our previous analysis using infrared spectroscopy revealed a decrease in the density of functional groups, while the methine groups, which form the backbone of the PADC polymer, were largely unaffected. In this study, we have newly examined the indirect damage effects of ozone on PADC and have initiated analysis using UV-Visible spectroscopy.
