Ionic liquids exhibit excellent thermoelectric properties, and recent studies have reported that Seebeck coefficient for ionic liquids strongly depends on the water contents. Here, we investigate the intermolecular interactions of ionic liquids and their aqueous mixtures using infrared spectroscopy. We also discuss the effect of the water adsorption and diffusion on the thermoelectric properties of ionic liquids.
