Nanoantennas enable high degree of control of light by strongly confining light to sub-wavelength regions. In addition, when coupled with a light emitter, excitation enhancement, the Purcell effect, and emission directionality can be controlled. In this study, fluorescent molucles are placed on metasurfaces consisting of hexagonal lattice array of silicon nanodiscs to demonstrate the control of emission directionality using metasurface resonance.
