Power generation from graphene and water flow interface is a promising energy source for sensor-driven applications. This study was carried out to identify the direction of the generated current and to improve the power generation based on the conversion mechanism between momentum and charge transfer.
It was found that the current generated when water flow is applied is highly dependent on the direction of water flow and the angle of the electrode pair, which supports a quantum friction mechanism whereby the momentum of water molecules acts on the charge transfer in graphene.
