A glassy material is obtained by melt-molding of a necklace-like supramolecule that consists of mechanically interlocked cyclic molecules and polymers. When this material is stretched, it shows yielding and high ductility while inducing a phase-separated structure between cyclic molecules and polymers. We report on a material design in which the phases responsible for the material framework and the phases responsible for large deformation are not strongly interacting with each other, but rather are loosely constrained to each other.
