This study aims to improve the performance of thermoelectric conversion technology, which converts unused waste heat into electricity. We developed a two-layer composite material consisting of metallic Ag2(S,Se) and insulating Ag2S. This composite material enables both a high Seebeck coefficient and low electrical resistivity, and also exhibits low thermal conductivity at room temperature. Measurements of the fabricated Ag2S/Ag2(S,Se) composite material confirmed a clear composite effect.
