[10p-N201-5]Preparation of Type-Ⅲ Fe-Substituted Clathrate and its Thermoelectric Properties

In order to reduce the impurity phases and improve thermoelectric properties of Type-Ⅲ Ba24Ge100 clathrate with Fe substituted for Ge, samples were synthesized and examined by combining arc melting, spark plasma sintering (SPS), and annealing processes under several conditions. As a result, it was confirmed that the impurity phase FeGe2 was reduced and the electrical conductivity σ was improved in the samples prepared by arc melting, annealing at 800 ℃, and SPS in this order. However, the effect of carrier concentration reduction by Fe substitution was found to be low.
