We discuss the connection between Bohr's complementarity principle and quantum measurement theory, which is essential for analyzing and understanding experimental results. By accurately identifying situations where quantum instruments, a central concept in quantum measurement theory, are used, We show that a mathematical expression of Bohr's complementarity principle, proposed in the late 1920s and refined through debates with Einstein, is possible.
