Here, we quantitatively estimated the number of short-lived reactive oxygen species (ROS) using an atmospheric-pressure helium microplasma jet with a quartz-coated internal electrode. Methylene blue (MB) was used as an indicator, and the evaluation of the decomposition was conducted using absorption spectroscopy. We investigated the ROS production on the dependence of vertical irradiation distance and frequency dependence in the range of 1–60 kHz. In this presentation, we will report the electrical and optical discharge characteristics and the frequency and distance dependence of short-lived ROS in comparison with a conventional microplasma jet.
