In recent years, the generation and control of skyrmions, hopfions, and other topological quasiparticles that may be formed in electromagnetic waves have gained substantial attention as they offer multiplexed degrees of freedom for encoding, storing, and transferring information. However, efficiently interfacing such light topological quasiparticles with other material (quasi-)particles remains challenging because of the diffraction limit. In this work, we show that plasmonic multimer nanoantennas can be used to create nanoscale textures with non-trivial topology in the phase, polarization, and spin density distributions of the electric field. The ability to structure light fields confined near plasmonic nanogaps paves the way for new applications in optical sensing and quantum photonics.
