We have found a simple method to synthesize copper nanowires with controlled length. We then used the copper nanowires obtained by this method to fabricate a new copper nonwoven fabric with a large surface area and high porosity. Porous copper can be used as an electrode, heat dissipation material, and bonding material. We therefore investigated the mechanical properties of this copper nonwoven fabric and performed a test to detect trace amounts of glucose in a solution using it as an electrode.
