In our previous study, we found that gelation occurs when calcium oxide dispersed in ethanol is irradiated with a 266 nm wavelength laser. Furthermore, our recent research revealed that the gel formation is induced by acetic acid generated through the photooxidation of ethanol. In this report, we present new insights into the gelation mechanism obtained from laser ablation of CaO in 2-propanol (IPA).
