One-dimensional inorganic crystals composed of heavy atoms and chairal molecules have broken inversion symmetry and anisotropy, and show unique photophysical phenomena that are not observed in higher-dimensional semiconductors such as silicon. In this study, we aim to control the spatial inversion symmetry and develop novel optical/spin properties in inorganic one-dimensional structures by using chiral organic molecules. Here, we report the crystal structure and photo-electric functions of one-dimensional chiral single crystals based on tellurium iodide.
