This study reports the experimental observation of optical skyrmion features in the emission from an active nanophotonic laser. The device, a ring resonator with circular gratings and an S-shaped coupler, exhibits unidirectional lasing at 1481 nm under pulsed excitation at 5 K. Polarization-resolved measurements reveal vortex-like textures covering the full Poincaré sphere, with a calculated skyrmion number of −1.0098. The results demonstrate active generation of optical skyrmions, though fabrication-related imperfections introduce minor deviations from the design.
