In a conventional volume hologram, only the amplitude and phase information of light is recorded. However, a polarization volume hologram can also record the polarization information of light, making it a promising method for advanced information storage, and research on it is actively progressing. In this study, polarization volume hologram fabrication is conducted using azobenzene-doped polymer. Due to the unique light-responsive properties of azobenzene, it is considered suitable for updating AI training data and for reducing material degradation during repeated or prolonged exposure.
