Piezoelectric single crystals (SC) have excellent piezoelectric properties, however, piezoelectric ceramics are advantageous in terms of mechanical properties and workability. It is important for piezoelectric materials to achieve high piezoelectric properties over a wide temperature range, and it is also important for applications that the piezoelectric properties change little and are not lost over the operating temperature range. In this study, we prepared the samples by cutting oriented piezoelectric ceramics in different cutting directions, and evaluated their properties and reported the results.
Samples cut out of oriented ceramics TX101 manufactured by QorTek Co. USA in the horizontal and vertical directions to the oriented plane were evaluated. The horizontal plane is strongly oriented to the (100) plane. In addition, by scanning electron microscopy, it was observed that crystal grains of 5-30 μm were arranged in the horizontal direction in the cross section. shows The dielectric properties of the horizontal sample were measured. Horizontal samples tend to have smaller dielectric constants. The piezoelectric d33 constant has so far been obtained to be 803 pC/N and 565 pC/N for horizontal and vertical samples, respectively.
The temperature dependence of the piezoelectric properties was determined by measuring impedance, capacitance, and dielectric loss under automated temperature control. The present textured ceramics showed piezoelectric properties up to 192 ºC.
