Conventional OTDRs have been limited by the bandwidth constraints of optical detectors, restricting the width of usable optical pulses. Even high-resolution systems were limited to approximately 1 cm.To overcome this limitation, a new method has been proposed that enables the sampling of high-speed pulses by performing sampling in the optical domain. In this study, we propose an optical sampling OTDR that can distinguish multiple reflection points over long ranges by introducing a correlation measurement method using PRBS signals in the optical sampling OTDR.
