Organic single crystals are promising candidates for photonic integrated circuits, as they can function as optical waveguides, resonators, and gain media. By introducing a tert-butyl (tBu) group into organic molecules, improved solution processability and efficient emission—through spatial separation of emissive species—can be expected. In this study, we developed and crystallized a novel molecule with a tBu group. Interestingly, the resulting crystal exhibited amplified spontaneous emission from stimulated emission processes and resonator modes along specific crystal facets, leading to successful laser oscillation from the organic crystal.
