In perovskite solar cells, electrode degradation caused by iodine is a significant contributor to unstable operation. Degradation often starts at the edges of the electrode, but the detailed migration pathways of iodine remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the distribution of iodine on the electrode surface and at the interface between the electrode and the charge transport layer using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy in order to gain further insight into the mechanism of iodine migration.
